Casting for the 2012 edition of the Miss Universe Ghana pageant is set to take place in Accra on Saturday, August 18, organizers have announced.
The audition comes off at the Miss Universe Ghana office at the Airport Residential Area of Accra and producers are hoping to select 15 amazing young women who will compete in the final showdown.
According to a statement released by the organizers, Insignia/RAC Group, the audition is opened to interested young women between the ages of 18 and 25 Ghanaians of 5’7ft or taller with a valid national identification card.
The Ghana preliminary, the statement said, is used “to select a young woman who is the very quintessence of the 21st century Ghanaian woman – ambitious, charismatic, savvy, elegant, intelligent, beautiful, and assertive, to represent Ghana on the world stage – the Miss Universe Pageant.”
The organizers said the prize package for this year’s winner which will help give her a jump start to a professional, social and humanitarian career.
It includes an all-expenses paid trip to New York, USA to represent Ghana at the 61st Miss Universe pageant, a 3-month Internship with the United Nations Organization in New York.
There is also a package of an internship with a leading international fashion magazine, appearances at national and international social and charitable events.
Past Miss Universe Ghana’s winners who have represented the country on the international stage include, Akuba Cudjoe, who was part of the Top 10 finalists in 1999 world pageant, Menaye Donkor and Angela Asare also won the Miss Congeniality Award in 2004 and 2006 recently.
